The working environment shall be safe and hygienic, taking account of current industry knowledge and of any particular hazards, and adequate steps shall be taken to stop accidents and harm to health that arise from, are linked to or happen during work, by reducing the causes of hazards in the working environment as far as reasonably practicable. Workers shall be given health and safety training that is regular and recorded, and the training shall be given again to workers who are new or reassigned. Clean toilets and drinking water shall be available, together with sanitary facilities for storing food where appropriate. Any accommodation provided shall be clean and safe and meet workers' basic needs. A company that observes the code shall make a senior management representative responsible for health and safety.
