The extent to which clause 7 applies to the system under consideration is stated in the RAMS plan, and an iterative life cycle model is chosen; regardless of tailoring, responsibilities and task interfaces are defined, all personnel with RAMS responsibilities are competent, a safety plan as well as a RAM plan is in place, and a configuration management system covering at least the system documentation is used (with a quality management system to EN ISO 9001 or equivalent recommended). Every requirement scaled or omitted is explicitly identified, and the tailoring specifies the phases required and not required with justification, for each phase kept, its activities and requirements with their scope, methods, tools, verification and validation and documentation, and the limits of applicability.
