Clause 5.6: System engineering integration and control – ECSS-E-ST-10C System Engineering General Requirements (2009 edition)

ECSS-E-ST-10C System Engineering General Requirements (2009 edition) 5.6.1: Define, plan and manage the integrated technical effort

What does 5.6.1 require?

System engineering defines, plans and manages the whole technical effort in line with the system engineering plan and the preceding clauses, quantifying the effort as input to management; sets up its organisation and interfaces as the plan says; initiates and controls the activities of the engineering disciplines, product assurance, production, and operations and integrated logistic support that serve its objectives; makes engineering decisions with the appropriate support; keeps available the product and process data that lets the complete system be made, tested, delivered, run, maintained and finally disposed of; links into project configuration control so that every binding change from engineering decisions is picked up; and sees that lessons from past and parallel activities are used systematically.
