EarthCheck Company Standard Version 4.2 2.4.1: Cultural Sensitivity

What does 2.4.1 require?

Respect for local customs, traditions and heritage is built into operations, staff training, guest information and community work; policies make sure cultural practice is shown faithfully and not exploited or commercialised; staff are trained, with records, to understand local culture and to speak with guests respectfully about it; and guests are told clearly how to behave in line with local norms.
