CDP (formerly Carbon Disclosure Project) 2.6: Questions 2.6 to 2.6.3: Tailings dam management

Mining and coal organisations report, by river basin, how many tailings dams they control, active and inactive; state whether they evaluate and classify dams by the consequences of failure to human health and ecosystems and the guidelines used; give details of each dam rated hazardous or highly hazardous; and describe the procedures in place to manage potential impacts on human health and water ecosystems (for example acceptable risk levels, operating plans, emergency preparedness and independent review).
