The organisation states whether it runs a process through which it identifies, assesses and manages its environmental dependencies and impacts, and another for its risks and opportunities, and describes each: the environmental issues and which of the four (dependencies, impacts, risks, opportunities) it covers, value chain stages, coverage, the assessment type and frequency, time horizons, how it is built into organisation-wide risk management that spans disciplines, location-specificity, tools and methods, the risk types and criteria considered (acute and chronic physical, policy, market, reputation, technology and liability), partners and stakeholders considered, and whether the process changed; mining companies give biodiversity-specific process details; and it states whether interconnections between dependencies, impacts, risks and opportunities are assessed. CDP's ambition is a robust, at least annual process spanning direct operations, the value chain, and financed activities and assets that maps the value chain, screens sites, engages stakeholders, covers transition and physical risks over several horizons and discloses methods and significance criteria; leadership points for climate are awarded for covering dependencies and impacts and for considering all seven risk types.
