BRCGS Global Standard for Food Safety Issue 9 3.5.3.1: Risk-based approval and monitoring of service suppliers

What does 3.5.3.1 require?

There must be a procedure for approving and monitoring service suppliers, such as pest control, laundry, contract cleaning, servicing and maintenance, transport and distribution, storage and packing off site, laboratory testing, catering, waste management, training and consultancy. Approval and monitoring are based on the risk to product safety and quality, on legal requirements, and on the security risks found by the vulnerability assessment and the food defence assessment.
