BRCGS Global Standard for Food Safety Issue 9 3.11.4: 3.11.4 Certification body notified within three working days of a significant incident, with full information within 21 days

If a significant incident affecting food safety, authenticity or legality occurs (such as a recall, an enforcement notice from a regulator, or a withdrawal made for safety reasons), the company must inform the certification body that issued its current certificate within 3 working days. Within 21 calendar days it must then give the body enough information to judge the effect on the certificate, including as a minimum the corrective action taken, the root cause analysis, and the plan for preventive action.
