Effective appeal processes are available when decisions of the RTO or a third party adversely affect a student. The RTO shows it runs an appeals system that allows appeal of adverse decisions by the RTO, third parties and anyone it employs or contracts; affords procedural fairness to all parties; specifies reasonable timeframes; and provides review by an independent party at no or low cost if the appellant asks; that appeal information is public and easy to access; that outcomes are documented and communicated to the appellant; and that appeal outcomes inform continuous improvement.
