Part 2-3: corporate plans, budget estimates, performance records and statements, accounts, financial statements, audit, audit committee and annual report (sections 33 to 49) – Australia Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act)

Australia Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act) 45: Audit committee: ensure the entity has an audit committee constituted, and performing its functions, in accordance with the rules

What does 45 require?

Each Commonwealth entity must have an audit committee, and it is the accountable authority's duty to make sure of it. The committee's make-up and its functions must follow whatever the rules prescribe: under the PGPA Rule that means advising on financial reporting, performance reporting, the system of risk oversight and management and the system of internal control, a written charter, minimum membership and independence standards, and a list of persons who may not serve.
