The standard travelling time component is paid per day, for irrigation installers and for plumbing and mechanical services staff at 25% of their classification's minimum hourly rate, and for fire sprinkler fitters at 75%. It assumes travel inside a 50 km defined radius around the centre of employment, which the employer fixes as its normal base or workshop, the main GPO (or principal post office) in the capital or major regional centre (for bases within the radius of it), the local post office nearest the base where outside that radius, or, for a distant job, the place the employees are domiciled with approval. Once fixed, the centre cannot be changed without at least 28 days' notice to every employee.
