Handling hot asphalt or bitumen, or dipping materials in creosote, attracts the hourly amount in clause 21.6(e) of the current award (consolidated to 16 September 2026, read 30 September 2026) for each hour so engaged. It is an incidence allowance payable to all employees, including those on the industry allowance, and is subject to the rule that only the highest of overlapping disability allowances is paid (21.5(a)).
