An employee removing or otherwise neutralising material made of or containing asbestos receives the hourly asbestos eradication amount instead of the other 21.6 special rates, except that cold work and hot work allowances still apply. An employee required by the occupational health authority's safeguards to wear protective equipment such as combination overalls and breathing apparatus when using asbestos materials, or working near others using them, must be paid the hourly asbestos materials amount while wearing it.
