Part 4: Wages and Allowances – Australia Plumbing and Fire Sprinklers Award 2020 (MA000036)

Australia Plumbing and Fire Sprinklers Award 2020 (MA000036) 21.3a: 21.3(a) Industry allowance for plumbing and mechanical services employees

Every employee in a plumbing and mechanical services classification must receive the weekly industry allowance, the amount in clause 21.3(a) of the current award (consolidated to 16 September 2026, read 30 September 2026). It compensates for disabilities of construction work: open-air weather, climbing stairs or ladders, wind-blown dust, brick dust and concrete drippings, mud and slop in early building stages, working on scaffolds or ladders (other than swing or suspended scaffolds or a bosun's chair) and lack of factory amenities such as meal rooms, change rooms and lockers.
