Part 4: Wages and Allowances – Australia Plumbing and Fire Sprinklers Award 2020 (MA000036)

Australia Plumbing and Fire Sprinklers Award 2020 (MA000036) 21.11i: 21.11(i) Wet weather procedure: limits on keeping employees on site; rain at start time

When wet weather stops work, employees cannot be kept on site after they have lost more than 4 accumulated hours of ordinary time in a day, more than 50% of normal afternoon work time after the meal break, or more than 1 accumulated hour in the last 2 hours of the day. If they stay longer by agreement, the extra wet time is paid and not debited from their hours. Wet time during overtime is ignored for these limits. Despite 21.11(f), employees in the sheds because of rain, or while it is raining at the start of the day, at morning tea or at lunch, may be sent to a dry area or another site if the rain stops, a covered walkway exists, the sheds are covered so the dry area can be reached without going through rain, or adequate protection (including for tools) is provided.
