Where the employer agrees, the return home may be taken earlier or later than the date it falls due in special circumstances, without changing how later entitlements accrue. Fares are paid only if the employee actually uses them. If employer and employee agree in writing, the paid RDO under clause 15 may be taken and paid together with, and in addition to, the rest and recreation leave, or at project end or termination, whichever is first. When employment on the distant job ends, the employee must be given notice in time to arrange suitable transport, or be paid until the close of the ordinary working day preceding the availability of transport.
