Use evidence-informed practice (family input, the best available research and professional expertise); explain what the provider is and is not qualified to do and refer on when needs fall outside it; with consent, work with the rest of the child's team; supervise and train staff. Providers never work without the right qualifications and experience, never use a professional title without the relevant registration, and never make unreasonable claims about the benefits of their supports.
