When licensed removal work is completed, the person who commissioned it (or the licensed removalist at residential premises) ensures an independent clearance inspection (visual, possibly with air monitoring) is done by an independent licensed asbestos assessor for Class A work or an independent competent person otherwise; the assessor or competent person issues a written clearance certificate before re-occupation only if the area and surrounds are free of visible asbestos contamination and any air monitoring shows below 0.01 fibres per millilitre, ensuring the area poses no exposure risk.
