Australia Model Work Health and Safety Regulations r471-472: rr 471 and 472 Decontamination facilities, and asbestos waste and PPE disposal

An asbestos removalist ensures facilities are available to decontaminate the removal area, plant, workers and other permitted persons; that nothing likely to be contaminated leaves the area unless decontaminated or sealed in a container whose exterior is decontaminated and GHS-labelled for asbestos; that asbestos waste is contained and GHS-labelled before leaving the area and disposed of as soon as practicable at an authorised site; and that contaminated PPE is sealed before removal and disposed of at an authorised site, or, if not reasonably practicable, clothing is laundered at a laundry equipped for asbestos or kept sealed for reuse and other PPE decontaminated or kept sealed, with sealed containers decontaminated and labelled before removal.
