Australia Model Code of Practice: Work Health and Safety Consultation, Cooperation and Coordination
Section 2: When to consult with workers – Australia Model Code of Practice: Work Health and Safety Consultation, Cooperation and Coordination

Australia Model Code of Practice: Work Health and Safety Consultation, Cooperation and Coordination 2.0: 2 Consult workers at the trigger points the WHS Act lists

A PCBU must consult workers when identifying hazards and assessing risks from the work, deciding how to eliminate or minimise risks, deciding on the adequacy of welfare facilities, proposing changes that may affect health or safety, and deciding procedures for consulting, resolving health and safety issues, monitoring worker health, monitoring workplace conditions and providing information and training (WHS Act s 49). Other matters may usefully be included, and regular consultation is better than ad hoc consultation because it finds problems early. The WHS Regulations require consultation in additional circumstances, tabulated in Appendix E.
