Australia Model Code of Practice: Preparation of Safety Data Sheets for Hazardous Chemicals
Chapter 3, SDS sections 1 to 3: identification, hazard identification and composition – Australia Model Code of Practice: Preparation of Safety Data Sheets for Hazardous Chemicals

Australia Model Code of Practice: Preparation of Safety Data Sheets for Hazardous Chemicals s3-identity: Section 3: disclose ingredient chemical identities as Schedule 8 requires, including classification-relevant impurities and stabilisers, and non-hazardous ingredients with an exposure standard above 1%

What does s3-identity require?

Section 3 must identify the ingredients, including impurities and stabilisers that affect the classification, and must disclose the chemical identity of ingredients in line with Schedule 8 of the WHS Regulations. An ingredient that is not itself classified but has an exposure standard should be named when it exceeds 1% of the mixture if they are likely to be released under normal storage and use. Identity disclosure is not required for ingredients carrying only physical or environmental classifications, for non-hazardous ingredients, or for ingredients only in GHS health categories outside the WHS Regulations (acute toxicity Category 5, skin irritation Category 3, aspiration hazard Category 2, aquatic toxicity, flammable gas Category 2, ozone depletion).
