Australia Model Code of Practice: Preparation of Safety Data Sheets for Hazardous Chemicals
Chapter 3, SDS sections 1 to 3: identification, hazard identification and composition – Australia Model Code of Practice: Preparation of Safety Data Sheets for Hazardous Chemicals

Australia Model Code of Practice: Preparation of Safety Data Sheets for Hazardous Chemicals s2: Section 2: state the full GHS hazard classification, the signal word, hazard and precautionary statements and relevant non-GHS hazard statements, with optional black and white pictograms

What does s2 require?

Section 2 must carry a classification statement that explains every hazard the chemical presents, giving the GHS hazard class and category where classified (for example 'Flammable liquid, Category 1'); environmental and other GHS categories outside the WHS Regulations (such as acute oral toxicity Category 5) may also be shown. It should include the signal word, hazard statements and precautionary statements matching the classification, using the specific elements in Appendix C for each class and category and the general ones where appropriate, plus any of the 12 non-GHS hazard statements in Appendix C that apply. Pictograms are optional but, if used, may be shown in black and white at between 1x1 cm and 2x2 cm with their names (for example 'flame'); dangerous goods class labels can appear too without duplicating graphics.
