Chapter 3, SDS sections 1 to 3: identification, hazard identification and composition – Australia Model Code of Practice: Preparation of Safety Data Sheets for Hazardous Chemicals

Australia Model Code of Practice: Preparation of Safety Data Sheets for Hazardous Chemicals s1-contact: Section 1: give the Australian manufacturer or importer's details and an Australian emergency contact available out of hours, confirming any poisons centre arrangement in advance

What does s1-contact require?

Section 1 must include the name, Australian address and business phone number of the Australian manufacturer or importer, and Australian emergency contact information. The emergency service should be reachable after hours too. Where the SDS names an emergency advice service or poisons information centre, the arrangement should be agreed with that service beforehand and it should be given copies of the SDS (it may also ask for a full ingredient list).
