Australia Model Code of Practice: Managing the Risks of Plant in the Workplace 1.2b: 1.2 Meet the specific duties of the person with management or control of plant (rr 203 to 213)

A PCBU that manages or controls fixtures, fittings or plant has specific duties in the WHS Regulations: manage physical and psychosocial risks (r 203); control risks arising from installation or commissioning (r 204); prevent unauthorised alterations to or interference with plant (r 205); make sure plant is used only for its designed purpose unless the proposed use does not increase risk (r 206); leave plant not in use in a safe state (r 207); provide guarding (r 208) and guarding and insulation from heat and cold (r 209); provide compliant operational controls (r 210), emergency stops (r 211) and warning devices (r 212); and ensure maintenance and inspection by a competent person (r 213). A person can hold several duties at once, for example an owner who modifies its own plant takes on a designer's and manufacturer's duties as well.
