Australia Model Code of Practice: Managing Risks of Hazardous Chemicals in the Workplace 6.5: 6.5 Consider automatic sprinkler systems where risk justifies them and water is suitable

Depending on the level of risk the PCBU may install an automatic sprinkler system, which can control a fire almost immediately. They may not suit every workplace, for example where water is unsuitable because chemicals react with it. Systems may use individual-actuation sprinklers, deluge sprinklers, foam sprinklers or a combination.
