Australia Model Code of Practice: Managing Psychosocial Hazards at Work A6: Appendix A: Provide fair recognition and reward

Inadequate recognition and reward means an imbalance between effort and recognition: unfair negative feedback on things outside the worker's control, too little feedback, biased or opaque distribution of rewards or credit taken for others' work, limited development, or underused skills. Example controls: fair, transparent and meaningful recognition that includes teamwork rather than only high profile work; performance measures tied to what the worker controls and set in consultation; prompt, specific and fair feedback; leaders able to give constructive feedback and manage underperformance with improvement over blame; correct attribution of work; systems for training, mentoring and development.
