Australia Model Code of Practice: Managing Psychosocial Hazards at Work 1.2b: 1.2 Officers exercise due diligence on psychosocial risks

Officers such as company directors must exercise due diligence to make sure the PCBU meets its WHS duties (WHS Act s 27). For psychosocial risk this means taking reasonable steps to keep up to date with psychosocial WHS matters, to understand the operations and the psychosocial hazards and risks they carry, to make sure appropriate resources and processes exist and are used to eliminate or minimise those risks, to make sure there are processes to receive, consider and respond in good time to information on incidents, hazards and risks, to make sure processes exist for complying with duties under the Act and Regulations, and to verify that all of these are provided, used and performing effectively.
