Workplace specific induction should be run by the PCBU with management or control of the workplace or the principal contractor and may cover site hazards and controls, underground services, site safety documents (traffic management plan, WHS management plan), supervision, consultation and reporting, site rules, facilities, first aid and emergency procedures including after-hours contacts, health monitoring, access, egress and security, and how issues are resolved; it need not repeat SWMS or general induction content. Workers, and some visitors, should attend; delivery can be by toolbox talk, pre-start, on-the-job instruction, one-off sessions or apps. In housing construction, PCBUs must provide relevant workplace specific training; subcontractors may deliver it to their workers on the builder's behalf after consultation, and the builder should verify it happened, for example checking excavating subcontractors understand services information before digging.
