The PCBU must ensure each construction worker holds a general construction induction training card (white card), or certification showing they have applied and not yet been issued one. A worker who has not been notified of a decision within 60 days of applying is taken to hold a card until the regulator decides; a worker who receives a cancellation notice must return the card. Cards issued in other jurisdictions are recognised if used on their terms and not suspended or cancelled. Workers must keep the card available for inspection and show it to the PCBU that engages them.
