PCBUs, including builders, subcontractors, self-employed persons and sole traders, must provide the information, training, instruction and supervision needed to protect everyone from construction risks, and information must be suitable, adequate and readily understandable (r 39). It may cover the nature of the work, its risks and the arrangements and procedures for physical and psychosocial hazards such as evacuation, delivered in writing or verbally through training, pre-start meetings or toolbox talks. Supervisors should provide the level of supervision needed, including checking workers' competency.
