A person or body applying to FSANZ to develop or vary a food regulatory measure applies in writing, in the form the application guidelines specify and with all the information and things they require (s 22(2)). Under Guideline 3.1.1 the application is in English (supporting documents in other languages need a full English translation), carries an executive summary supplied as a separate electronic file, identifies which guideline each part addresses, has sequentially numbered pages, is lodged electronically (not by facsimile) and includes full electronic copies of every reference cited; a table of contents and word searchability are recommended. Missing mandatory ('must') information may lead to rejection at administrative assessment (s 26(2)(a)).
