If redundancy leads to an employee being moved to new duties with a lower ordinary rate, the employer may give notice of the transfer equal to the notice of termination the employee would get under s 117, or transfer them immediately or before the notice expires and pay the difference. That payment equals the gap between the employee's ordinary rate in the old role and in the new one (each counting all-purpose allowances and the shift and penalty rates for ordinary hours) for the hours the old role would have required, across the part of the notice period that was not given.
