Where the employer proposes altering an employee's regular roster or ordinary hours, and that employee's hours are not irregular, sporadic or unpredictable, it must consult the affected employees and their representatives. It must give them information about the change, such as its nature and start date, invite the employees to say how it will affect them (including family or caring responsibilities) and invite their representatives to do the same, and consider the views given. This operates alongside other award provisions on scheduling work or giving notice.
