What does 5 require?

Resting points must be provided for passengers along an access path in premises and infrastructure where the walking distance between facilities or services exceeds 60 metres, following the note to clause 7 of AS 1428.2 (1992). Each resting point must provide seating that complies with clause 27.1(a) of AS 1428.2 (1992) and, under the 2026 amendment, a flat and stable area of 1300 by 800 mm next to the seating that suits a wheelchair or mobility aid and does not overlap the access path. The wheelchair space applies to resting points installed on or after 13 October 2026 and, after the 5-year transitional period, to earlier ones still in service.
