ASIC Regulatory Guide 274 Product Design and Distribution Obligations (Australia) RG274.64-95: Make the TMD appropriate: describe a target market whose needs the product and its key attributes are likely to meet

On an objective view, one must be able to conclude that the product and its key features probably suit what consumers in the described group are likely to want, afford and need, and that the distribution conditions will probably keep buyers inside that group. ASIC expects the issuer to analyse the key attributes and describe the class with enough detail, and to identify classes for which the product is clearly unsuitable.
