Downstream of a containment device the water still counts as drinking water unless unprotected hazards exist on the premises, and those hazards need their own individual or zone protection. Water downstream of any device may not be reconnected upstream of it without a device of the same hazard rating. Pipework downstream of a high or medium hazard device (other than a containment device) must carry, at each outlet, a permanent and legible prohibition sign described in Clause 9.7.2.
