AS 4674-2004 Design, Construction and Fit-out of Food Premises 4.4.1: 4.4.1 Handwashing facilities: general requirements

Hand basins are provided wherever open food is handled, in utensil and equipment washing areas, and in or immediately next to toilet cubicles (a note recommends a basin at the staff entrance to open food areas). Basins are unobstructed, at bench height and mounted on the wall, on a support frame or set into a bench top, accessible, and (apart from toilet basins) no more than 5 m from anywhere food handlers handle open food.
