All ECO members must be instructed on how to operate the communication system where one is installed; regular checks should be done monthly or as the EPC decides, and records must be kept. ECO members and occupants must be given training materials matched to their role, specific to the site, and in a format the recipient can understand (printed, large print, electronic, audio, braille, other languages, charts), using the standard colour codes where used.
