ECO members, including deputies, must take part in a refresher activity at least every six months, covering their roles and responsibilities under the procedures and operation of the communication system, and which may include table-top and evacuation exercises. Workplace occupants should take part at intervals of no more than 12 months, covering responding to alarms, personal emergency evacuation plans, specific emergency procedures and identifying ECO members. Occupants nominated for first-attack firefighting must refresh that skill at least every two years, and specialist emergency response team members at least yearly.
