Section 6: Training – AS 3745-2010 Planning for Emergencies in Facilities

AS 3745-2010 Planning for Emergencies in Facilities 6.4: Train occupants who work in the facility and inform visitors

All occupants who work at the facility must be trained to act in line with the response procedures, ideally at the start of their duties and including casual staff, covering their responsibilities, the types of emergencies in the plan, how to report an emergency and activate alarms, recognising and reporting unsafe conditions, the identity and authority of ECO members, evacuation procedures, assembly areas, egress routes, post-emergency protocols and procedures for specific emergencies. Occupants who do not work there should receive equivalent training or information, and visitors should be given suitable information on the procedures as the EPC decides.
