Training must be conducted for at least one EPC member so the committee can meet its obligations, for the ECO, and for facility occupants, with all training and skills retention carried out or supervised by competent persons and including information on occupants and visitors with disability. A recognised competency standard should be used. EPC training should cover developing and maintaining the plan, the duties of the EPC, ECO and response team, site-specific emergency identification, managing the ECO and documentation, assessment and training activities, exercise management, mitigation, preparedness and prevention, installed fire safety systems, liaison with emergency services and post-evacuation management.
