Elevated floors need subfloor bracing (braced or cantilevered stumps, cross-bracing, braced columns or masonry walls); slabs on ground need none. The predecessor sets stump backfill and pad requirements, capacities by soil class with reduction factors, limits for N4, braced sets and columns, unreinforced masonry bracing walls (at least 90 mm thick, 3000 mm total and 900 mm panels), and even distribution with maximum spacing between bracing sets by wind class and floor width.
