Part 6 Divisions 1 and 2: Initial customer due diligence minimums and delayed verification – AML/CTF Rules 2025 (Australia)

AML/CTF Rules 2025 (Australia) R6-11: Relying on CDD already done for the same customer in a foreign country

What does R6-11 require?

A customer onboarded in Australia is treated as having the CDD matters established where the entity or a member of its reporting group already provides a service to the customer through a foreign establishment under FATF-based CDD and record-keeping law, either established the matter under that law or was not required to because the risk was low, and the entity holds, or has an arrangement giving immediate access to, the KYC information and verification data.
