Aged Care Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS) Provider Guidance ims-police: Notify police within 24 hours where there are reasonable grounds

Where there are reasonable grounds to report an incident to police, the provider notifies a police officer within 24 hours of becoming aware of the incident, or within 24 hours of later becoming aware of reasonable grounds. The duty does not depend on the wishes of the individual or their family, and the Commission advises reporting when in doubt about whether conduct is criminal.
