IPC education and training is given to all workers at orientation and on a continuing basis, so each has the skills, qualifications and competencies for the role. Education policies define mandatory requirements, support role-based pathways in several formats, evaluate outcomes, keep records per worker, let workers set training goals and set expectations for contract and indirectly employed staff. Older people, carers and families also receive basic IPC education.
