World Bank Group General EHS Guidelines 3.6: 3.6 Disease prevention

Project activities do not increase communicable and vector-borne disease risk in surrounding communities and workforce. Because no single measure works in the long term, initiatives combine providing health services and education, sanitation, housing and living conditions, controlling vectors, and tackling sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV/AIDS associated with labour mobility. Pesticide handling follows safety guidelines for storage, transport and distribution, and education materials are distributed.
