Projects that supply or affect drinking water protect its quality for communities and ensure project activities do not compromise water availability for personal hygiene. They account for potential future increases in demand, with an overall target of 100 litres per person per day (lower levels may meet basic health needs) and higher where health care or similar demands arise, and manage hazards to the public from access to project water facilities.
