The excavation notice must be written and must state: the name of whoever is giving the notice; who will directly supervise the excavation, with that supervisor's contact details; the notice date; the type of excavation proposed; whether explosives will be used; the likely start and finish date or dates; and the location or locations. One notice may cover an excavation for a single project spanning several locations and a period of time.
