Rules 339 to 341 do not apply: (1) for the first 28 days of employment of a person who has done no construction work in the previous 2 years, but only if the employer applies and pays for the person's construction induction training before or within those 28 days and gives the person direct supervision, directions, demonstrations and monitoring suited to the work for the 28 days so that, as far as reasonably practicable, the person works safely and without health risk; (2) for 60 days after the person receives a construction statement of attainment; (3) where the person finished the Construction Industry Basic Induction course before 1 July 2008, holds a card showing it, and has done construction work in the past 2 years; (4) where the person holds recognised evidence of construction induction training issued no more than 2 years ago, or has done construction work in the past 2 years.
