Employers and self-employed persons must make sure that risks created by carrying out the engulfment emergency procedures are eliminated as far as reasonably practicable, or, where that is not reasonably practicable, reduced as far as reasonably practicable. The regulation gives engulfment, falls, electric shock, crushing and musculoskeletal disorder as examples of such risks to rescuers.
